VibeTV Setup & Support

Quick start

1. Plug in VibeTV. Connect VibeTV to USB-C power.

2. Connect your phone. Open Wi-Fi settings on your phone and join VibeTV-Setup.

3. Connect VibeTV to your home Wi-Fi. The setup page should open automatically. If it does not, open http://192.168.4.1. Choose your 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi and enter its password.

4. Wait for confirmation. Continue when the VibeTV display says WiFi connected!

5. Install the Mac App. Download VibeTV Control Center, move it to Applications, and open it.

General Questions

01 // How does VibeTV get my usage data?

From your Mac, not from the AI providers. VibeTV reads your usage locally on your own computer, from the tools you are already signed in to. All AI providers keep track of your AI Usage somewhere, because they need it for things like billing and subscriptions. We only make this visible.

For example, Claude Code keeps local activity records in these folders on your Mac:

~/.claude/history.jsonl

and ~/.claude/projects/.
02 // Is my data sent to the cloud?

No. Your usage stays between your Mac and the device, inside your own network. There is no VibeTV account holding a record of what you consume. The Code is Open Source, check for yourself!
03 // Can I use one VibeTV with more than one computer?

VibeTV is always connected to one Mac, but your limits follow your account, not your hardware. E.g. If you use the same Claude account on two Macs, both will see the same usage on VibeTV.
04 // How does VibeTV decide which provider to show?

Automatically, based on what you are actually working in right now.

Example: you spend the morning in Claude Code and the display sits on Claude at 62 % weekly. After lunch you switch over to Codex. A minute or two later the display has followed you, and you never touched the device.
05 // I can't see my ChatGPT Usage
  1. Open System Settings on the Mac.
  2. Open Privacy & Security, then Local Network.
  3. Allow VibeTV Control Center.
  4. Quit the Mac App, open it again, and search for VibeTV.

Troubleshooting.

01 // I CAN'T FIND THE WIFI VIBETV-SETUP WIFI
  1. Unplug VibeTV from power.
  2. Plug VibeTV back in.
  3. Check the WiFi list on your phone again.
02 // THE SETUP PAGE DOESN'T OPEN
  1. Confirm your phone is connected to VibeTV-Setup.
  2. Turn off mobile data for a moment if the phone leaves the setup network.
  3. Open http://192.168.4.1 in the phone browser.
  4. Keep the phone connected until the setup page has saved your Wi-Fi.
03 // I CAN'T CONNECT TO MY WIFI

VibeTV connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. If your router uses the same name for its 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, give the two networks different names and connect VibeTV to the 2.4 GHz network.

On a FRITZ!Box:

  1. Open fritz.box in your browser.
  2. Enable Advanced View in the top-right corner.
  3. Open Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Network.
  4. Give the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks different names, for example Home_2.4GHz and Home_5GHz.
  5. Start VibeTV setup again and choose the 2.4 GHz network.
04 // MY MAC WON'T OPEN THE VIBETV APP
  1. Move VibeTV Control Center to Applications.
  2. Open it from Applications.
  3. If macOS shows a security message, open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and allow the signed VibeTV app.
  4. Open the app again.
05 // THE VIBETV APP CAN'T ACCESS MY LOCAL NETWORK
  1. Open System Settings on the Mac.
  2. Open Privacy & Security, then Local Network.
  3. Allow VibeTV Control Center.
  4. Quit the Mac App, open it again, and search for VibeTV.
06 // THE VIBETV APP CAN'T FIND MY VIBETV
  1. Confirm VibeTV and the Mac use the same Wi-Fi.
  2. Allow Local Network access for the Mac App.
  3. Temporarily disconnect VPN software and try Search again.
  4. Check that the router does not isolate wireless devices from each other.
  5. Restart the Mac App, then restart VibeTV and the router if needed.
07 // MY USAGE DATA IS MISSING OR OUT OF DATE
  1. Open Usage in the Mac App.
  2. Find the service under AI providers.
  3. Read the status shown next to the provider. Ready means it is working. Sign-in needed means you need to sign in again. Off means the provider is disabled.
  4. Follow the message shown below the provider or turn it on using the switch.
  5. If the provider shows Ready but a value is still missing, the service may not provide that value. VibeTV leaves unavailable values out.

08 // MY THEME IS MISSING, OUT OF DATE, OR BLANK
  1. Confirm the Mac App shows VibeTV as connected.
  2. Open Theme Library and choose a compatible theme.
  3. Wait for installation to finish before disconnecting power.
  4. If the picture is still wrong, try a built-in theme.
  5. Create a support report if multiple themes remain blank.
09 // MY UPDATE FAILS OR GETS STUCK
  1. Keep VibeTV powered on.
  2. Read the exact message in Updates.
  3. If the Mac App offers Try again, use it once after checking Wi-Fi.
  4. If the message asks for a power cycle, disconnect VibeTV from power for 10 seconds, reconnect it, and wait for the picture.
  5. Create a support report if the update still needs attention.

Always start Mac App and VibeTV software updates from the Mac App.
10 // MY DISPLAY IS BLACK, FROZEN, OR KEEPS RESTARTING
  1. Check the USB-C cable and power adapter.
  2. Disconnect VibeTV from power for 10 seconds, then reconnect it.
  3. Wait one minute and check the message on the display.
  4. Open the Mac App and confirm VibeTV is connected.
  5. Stop and create a support report if the display keeps restarting or remains black.
11 // SUPPORT ASKED ME TO RESET MY WIFI

Warning: Resetting Wi-Fi removes the saved network from VibeTV. You must connect to VibeTV-Setup and complete Wi-Fi setup again.

Create a support report first, then contact support. Support will confirm whether a Wi-Fi reset is the right next step and guide you through it.
12 // I can't see my ChatGPT Usage

Classic ChatGPT Subscriptions are not supported. We support Codex and OpenAI API Usage.
13 // I use Claude models in Cursor, but the Claude tile stays at 0 %.

The request runs on your Cursor plan and is billed there. Your Anthropic subscription is never touched, so the Claude tile correctly stays where it is while the Cursor tile moves. The same rule holds for every tool that resells models on its own plan, such as Copilot or Kiro.

Run Opus in Cursor and the Cursor tile climbs. Run Opus in Claude Code and the Claude tile climbs.
