App and connection
MY COMPUTER WON'T OPEN THE VIBETV APP
On Mac: VibeTV needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Drag VibeTV Control Center into Applications and open it from there.
On Windows: run VibeTV-Control-Center-Setup.exe, finish the installer and open VibeTV Control Center from the Start menu. The installer is signed. If Windows SmartScreen still shows a warning, choose More info, then Run anyway.
THE VIBETV APP CAN'T FIND MY VIBETV
With a USB-C cable: make sure the cable carries data (many charging cables do not). Plug it straight into your computer rather than through a hub, and try another port.
With WiFi: check that VibeTV and your computer are on the same network, allow local network access (see above), turn off VPN software for a moment, and make sure your router does not isolate wireless devices from each other. You can also type in the IP address shown on VibeTV.
If nothing helps, restart the app, then VibeTV.
MY DISPLAY IS BLACK, FROZEN, OR KEEPS RESTARTING
- Check the USB-C cable and the power source. In cable mode, plug VibeTV straight into your computer, because some hubs and monitor ports do not supply enough power.
- Unplug VibeTV for 10 seconds, plug it back in, wait one minute and read the message on the display.
- Open the app and check that VibeTV shows as connected.
- If it keeps restarting or stays black, create a support report.
WiFi setup
I CAN'T FIND THE VIBETV-SETUP NETWORK
You only need VibeTV-Setup if you set up WiFi without a USB-C cable. The easier way: connect VibeTV to your computer with a USB-C data cable, and the app sends your WiFi details over the cable.
If you do use the phone method: unplug VibeTV for 10 seconds, plug it back in, and check your phone's WiFi list again. The network does not appear while VibeTV is in cable mode.
I connected to "VibeTV-Setup" Wifi but nothing happens.
This applies only to WiFi setup from a phone.
- Check that your phone is connected to VibeTV-Setup.
- If your phone keeps leaving that network, turn off mobile data for a moment.
- Open http://192.168.4.1 in the phone's browser.
- Keep the phone connected until the page has saved your WiFi, then switch back to your normal WiFi.
I CAN'T CONNECT TO MY WIFI
VibeTV only works with 2.4 GHz WiFi. If your router uses one name for both its 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, give them different names and choose the 2.4 GHz one.
On a FRITZ!Box:
- Open fritz.box in your browser.
- Turn on Advanced View (top right).
- Open WiFi › WiFi Network and rename the networks, for example Home_2.4GHz and Home_5GHz.
- Run WiFi setup again.
If WiFi still does not work, use USB-C cable mode. It needs no network.
THE VIBETV APP CAN'T ACCESS MY LOCAL NETWORK
This only matters in WiFi mode. In USB-C cable mode none of this is needed.
On Mac: open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network and allow VibeTV Control Center.
On Windows: if Windows Firewall asks, allow VibeTV Control Center on private networks, and set your WiFi to Private under Settings › Network & internet.
Then quit the app, open it again and search again.
Usage data
I'M STUCK ON "CHOOSE AI PROVIDERS" AND CONTINUE IS GREYED OUT
Continue unlocks once at least one enabled AI tool reports usage and no initial check is still running. Wait for the checks to finish. If a tool shows "no usage yet" although you use it, use the tool once and then click the circular arrow icon in that tool's row. If you already use another supported tool, you can switch it on to finish setup. This does not fix missing Claude values: if Claude still shows "no usage yet", email us so we can get Claude working on your VibeTV.
Claude shows "Claude found no usage for this sign-in" or "no usage yet"? The VibeTV app found a Claude sign-in without your plan's limits. It can also read your usage through Claude Code. Here's how to check:
- Do you have the latest VibeTV app? Download it from app.vibetv.shop and install it like the first time.
- Is Claude Code installed? Type claude --version in Terminal (Mac) or PowerShell (Windows). If you get an error, install Claude Code: on a Mac with curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash, on Windows with irm https://claude.ai/install.ps1 | iex. Then open a new window.
- Are you signed in with the account of your plan? Type claude auth status --text. It should show the account with your Claude plan. If not, sign in again with claude auth login.
- Are you signed in with your Team account? Type claude auth status --text. Next to "Organization" you should see your team's name. If it says "…'s Organization" with your email address, that's your personal account: sign in again with claude auth login and pick your team in the browser.
- Check Claude again: Go back to the VibeTV app and click the circular arrow icon in the Claude row.
- Does Claude keep showing a spinning circle afterwards? (Mac) Open Terminal and paste this line: "$HOME/Library/Application Support/codexbar-display/CodexBar/0.82.0/CodexBar.app/Contents/Helpers/CodexBarCLI" config set-source --provider claude --source cli Then switch Claude off and on again in the VibeTV app under Settings › AI providers. Your values should appear within about a minute.
Still seeing the message? Email us at hello@vibetv.shop and we'll help.
MY USAGE DATA IS MISSING OR OUT OF DATE
Open the VibeTV app and go to Settings › AI providers. Check that the tool is switched on. If the app shows a message such as "Sign in to Claude", follow it. Some tools need you to sign in once in your browser, close the browser, and check again.
A missing value does not always mean your AI tool cannot provide it. The app may be reading a different account, or a value may not yet be included in VibeTV. VibeTV leaves missing values out instead of guessing. Email hello@vibetv.shop with your app version, a photo of your VibeTV and a screenshot of the expected value. This helps us find out why it is missing from your display.
If your plan is managed by your company (for example Perplexity through your organization), VibeTV currently shows only your personal credits, not your organization's shared pool. We're working on it.
THE APP ASKS FOR FULL DISK ACCESS OR FOR "CHROME SAFE STORAGE"
macOS shows these requests when the app reads your AI provider sign-in from a browser: Full Disk Access for Safari, "Chrome Safe Storage" in Keychain for Chrome. Both are optional. If you'd rather not allow them, decline and sign in through the provider's own tool instead, for example Claude Code for Claude or Codex for ChatGPT. Then switch that tool off and on again in the VibeTV app so it checks again. If the row shows a circular arrow icon, one click on it is enough. For Claude, don't click "Sign in needed" or "Sign in to Claude": that makes the app look in your browser again. Still stuck? Email us at hello@vibetv.shop.
Specific AI tools
CLAUDE SHOWS 0 % ON VIBETV, OR DIFFERENT NUMBERS THAN CLAUDE.AI
Open claude.ai › Settings › Usage. Those are the numbers VibeTV shows too: your current session and your week. Chats in the browser, in the Claude app and in Claude Code all count.
The numbers differ, or VibeTV shows 0 %? Usually a different Claude account is signed in on your computer. You can tell by different reset times. Sign in on claude.ai in your browser with the account you want to see on VibeTV, and sign out of other Claude accounts there. Then check again in the VibeTV app.
You use Claude through your company's Team or Enterprise plan? If Claude shows "no usage yet", follow the steps under "I'm stuck on Choose AI providers" above.
The token count doesn't move although you chat a lot in the browser? That's expected. VibeTV reads token counts only from Claude Code on your computer. The percentages still count your chats.
I CAN'T SEE MY CHATGPT USAGE
VibeTV shows the Codex limits of your ChatGPT plan and your OpenAI API spend. It cannot show message limits for chatting in the ChatGPT app, because that usage is not available to outside tools. To see your Codex limits, switch on Codex in Settings › AI providers.
COPILOT SAYS "NEEDS A GITHUB SIGN-IN" EVEN THOUGH I'M SIGNED IN
Nothing is wrong with your account. VibeTV doesn't read the sign-in from the Copilot CLI, VS Code or the GitHub app. Copilot needs its own GitHub sign-in, which you start yourself for now.
Mac: Open Terminal and run this command: "$HOME/Library/Application Support/codexbar-display/CodexBar/0.82.0/CodexBar.app/Contents/Helpers/CodexBarCLI" config login --provider copilot Open github.com/login/device, enter the code shown and confirm with the GitHub account that uses Copilot.
Windows: Install the GitHub CLI, run gh auth login in PowerShell and sign in with the GitHub account that uses Copilot.
Then switch Copilot off and on again in the VibeTV app under Settings › AI providers. If that doesn't help, write to us at hello@vibetv.shop.
I USE CLAUDE MODELS IN CURSOR, BUT THE CLAUDE TILE STAYS AT 0 %
That is correct. When you use a Claude model inside Cursor, Cursor runs the request on its own plan, so the Cursor tile goes up. Your Anthropic subscription is not used, so the Claude tile stays where it is. The same applies to every tool that sells access to models on its own plan, such as Copilot or Kiro.
Opus in Cursor counts toward Cursor. Opus in Claude Code counts toward Claude.
FAQs.
WHAT DOES VIBETV SHOW?
Your AI usage, in numbers: how much of your session and weekly limit you have used, when each limit resets, and token counts.
DOES IT COUNT MY CLAUDE USAGE IN THE BROWSER AND APP, OR ONLY CLAUDE CODE?
Both. VibeTV shows the limits of your whole Claude account: your current 5-hour session and your weekly limit. These are the same numbers you see on claude.ai under Settings → Usage, so chats in the browser or the Claude app count just like Claude Code.
Using Claude through a Team or Enterprise plan? The app can currently read your personal organization instead of your team. See Setup & support, or email hello@vibetv.shop if your VibeTV shows different values.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ALL THE VIBETVS?
Only the look. Every VibeTV is the same device and works with every AI provider: the Claude TV works with Codex, the Codex TV works with Claude, and so on. You pick your theme in the VibeTV app during setup and can switch to any other theme anytime, for free. So if you ordered one VibeTV and would rather have another design, there is nothing to change in your order.
DOES IT WORK ON WINDOWS AND MAC?
Yes, it works on Windows and Mac. You need a Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma or later (Apple silicon or Intel) or a 64-bit Windows PC. Linux is not supported at the moment.
DOES VIBETV NEED WIFI?
No. You connect your VibeTV via USB-C cable (included).
You can, however, also connect it via WiFi, if you want.
DOES MY COMPUTER NEED TO STAY ON?
For current usage data, yes. VibeTV is a display. The VibeTV app runs in the background on your Mac or Windows PC, where you are signed in to your AI tools. It reads your usage there and sends it to VibeTV over the USB-C cable or WiFi. Without a running computer, no new values arrive. On a power supply and WiFi, VibeTV can still show a screensaver you set up, such as "Night Clock". You set this up in the app under Settings › Screensaver.
DO I NEED AN ACCOUNT OR A SUBSCRIPTION?
No. VibeTV has no account and no subscription. You pay €39.90 once.
WHERE DOES MY USAGE DATA COME FROM?
From the AI tools you already use. VibeTV creates no new data. It shows what the tools already track for your plan and your bill. The VibeTV app asks each tool for your current usage and limits, with the sign-in you already have on your computer. For some tools it also reads local activity files. Claude Code, for example, keeps them in ~/.claude/projects/.
IS MY DATA SENT TO THE CLOUD?
No! VibeTV runs locally on your computer. Your usage data only travels over the cable or your local WiFi to your VibeTV, never to us.
CAN I USE ONE VIBETV WITH MORE THAN ONE COMPUTER?
One VibeTV connects to one computer at a time. Your limits belong to your account, though, not to the computer. If you use the same Claude account on your laptop and your desktop, VibeTV shows the same Claude usage no matter which one you work on. To move VibeTV to another computer, install the app there and run setup again.
DO I NEED TWO VIBETVS FOR CLAUDE AND CHATGPT?
No. One VibeTV can show several AI tools: taking turns with "Automatic", or two side by side with "Two at once". You set this in the app under Settings › Display mode. One VibeTV app controls one VibeTV at a time. To use two VibeTVs at the same time, each one needs its own computer running the VibeTV app.
HOW DOES VIBETV DECIDE WHICH AI TOOL TO SHOW?
You can choose which AI tools you want to see on the display.
CAN I CUSTOMIZE THE SCREEN?
Yes! VibeTV comes with pre-built themes and Screensavers, but you can also build your own in the free VibeTV App that comes with it.
CAN I MAKE MY OWN THEMES?
Yes! Theme Studio in the VibeTV app lets you build a theme without code: arrange text, bars and images on the 240 × 240 pixel screen, add GIFs or sprites, connect them to your live usage, and send the result to VibeTV.
DOES VIBETV GET UPDATES?
Yes, we're actively developing! All updates are free :)
WHERE DO YOU SHIP?
Currently within Germany, with DHL. Shipping costs €4.99, and orders from €55 ship free. Delivery takes 3 to 5 business days. For other countries, email us at hello@vibetv.shop.
CAN I RETURN IT?
Yes. You can return VibeTV within 30 days of delivery. Email hello@vibetv.shop with your order number.
